We help our campers explore their passions and work on their skills to get to the Next Level. Campers have the opportunity to create a fun filled day packed with possibilities: from experiencing new challenges, exploring their passions and potential and trying something new. Our campers will discover their love for design or working hard to get that killer shot.

At NLDC, we balance the intensive sports and academic training with good ol’ fashioned fun, and that’s something that you can’t find at other sports day camps in the area. We have top-notch teachers and instructors from all over NY, NJ and CT who specialize in training children, but it’s what happens beyond the sports and classroom that makes NLDC so unforgettable. In addition to participating in a variety of activities , NLDC campers have the opportunity to participate in a variety of traditional camp activities such as the Apache Relay, Color Run, Water Wars and Wacky Sports Day to name a few.

At NLDC we like to keep it interesting. So, no day at camp is exactly the same. A few times each week, campers are strongly encouraged to choose an elective activity outside of their comfort zone.

Ed Metzendorf, founder and director of Next Level Camp for Girls and Next Level Camp for Boys, is admittedly a camp geek who spent many memorable summers as a camper and counselor before spending three years as a director at Westcoast Connection, where he created the sports and travel division.

In 2000, he caught the start-up wave with Bunk1.com, a summer camp technology company that he developed with other former campers to help camp directors with registration, administration, communication and back-office issues. While at Bunk1.com, Ed visited more than 200 camps across North America and was a frequent lecturer at camp conferences. Ed is on the Board of The Summer Camp and very involved in Camp Champions which both give kids from less fortunate environments the opportunity to enjoy a summer camp experience.

Ed was a 2-time Captain of his College Tennis team and currently coaches the Hunter College Tennis Teams

Additionally, he is very involved in both the Mamaroneck Soccer and Basketball Leagues.

Ed lives in Larchmont with his wife Beth (a Social Worker and former Division Leader at Camp Scatico) and his two daughters, Kate and Julia. Ed and his staff look forward to creating memories, friendships and most importantly many smiles!
